Individualized Return To Throwing Program
Complete Game’s Individualized Return to Throwing Program combines the latest technology, with expert clinical care, to provide the safest and quickest way to return to throwing following injury, surgery or a long layoff from throwing. The trouble with traditional return to throwing programs is that they have a set number of throws and distances, which don’t account for an athlete's size, age, throwing intensity, or arm stress. We use motion sensor technology to measure the intensity and stress of each throw an athlete makes to optimize outcomes.
Who this is for:
Athletes returning from injury or surgery who have completed PT and have been cleared to start an interval throwing program by their doctor.
Athletes with a history of injury returning to throw after a long layoff.
Athletes looking for a safe way to return to throwing in the late winter/early spring to be ready for the upcoming season.
Here’s how it works:
You will start with a 60 minute assessment with one of our doctors of physical therapy. During this session we will:
Test your strength, range of motion and endurance to ensure your body is ready to throw.
Provide you an individualized arm care program to address any deficits found.
Set you up with your Pulse sensor which is a motion sensor you will wear when you throw.
Review the throwing program you will follow including distances, number of throws and intensities.
You will then work on your throwing program on your own while wearing the Pulse sensor. The sensor is connected to a software program where we will be able to follow each of your throwing sessions and track them over time.
You will check in weekly with your PT either through email, phone or zoom to ensure that everything is going well and make adjustments if needed.
Typical throwing programs last 6-8 weeks.
